Food For The Poor (FFP) ministers to spiritually renew impoverished people throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Established in 1982 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, FFP’s goals are to improve the health, economic, social and spiritual conditions of the men, women and children they serve by raising funds and providing direct relief assistance to the poor, usually by purchasing specifically requested materials and distributing them through the churches and charity organizations already operating in areas of need.

Food For The Poor is currently ranked as the third largest international relief and development organization in the United States., and the fifth largest overall charity in the U.S. Fundraising and other administrative costs in 2009 comprised less than four percent of Food For The Poor’s expenses. More than 96 percent of all donations go directly toward programs that help the poor.
